May or May Not Monday

May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...

I may or may not have not been psychologically prepared to find out that right before we entered Arizona, that we were in fact driving through Arizona on our route back home. Be it just a mere 30 miles, without zooming in like crazy on the map, you could barely see that detail on the map route for our drive home.

I may or may not have been crazy impressed with our littles' traveling skills. 3,000 miles round trip driving spread over three days. Nothing but great attitudes displayed by all through our five state journey.

We may or may not have arrived at Zion National Park and looked at it and said, "Huh looks like Arizona". The kids were less than impressed. I, on the other hand, was greatly impressed with how green Death Valley was.

I may or may not have been woken up Saturday in the wee dark hours just before light to my bedroom windows whistling and howling like a train. I may or may not have woken up my husband and suggested rather emphatically that he close the blinds before the glass shattered all over us. Our best guess is that the winds clocked in at 70mph. Thankfully, the neighbor's flying trampoline was tied to the fence with several bungee cords.

I may or may not have lost my wedding ring while doing errands. After searching the house for the ring, we got back in the car and retraced our steps, literally. After spending hours feeling desperately sad and researching our insurance claim and the costly price of a replacement; the next day I moved a paper bag off the counter and found it nestled underneath safe and sound. I may need to glue it to my finger so I quit losing it.

We may or may not have been all paid and soaped up waiting in the tire guide when the car wash machine completely broke down for the day. The workers sprayed our car down with water. At least the bugs from our trip got washed off and we weren't the car that got stuck midway through the machine. And we scored two free future washes.

We may or may not have received a certified letter in the mail the day after our fantastic vacation asking us to consider adopting our nephew again. Thank you for ripping open my heart with those deep wounds. But great that parental rights have finally been terminated and he can be adopted now.

I may or may not have racked up $10 in library fines over the movies we brought on our trip. At some point the grace period rule changed and I wasn't informed. Not only those fines, but it looks like we may be having to pay for a replacement Curious George 2 dvd. The case made it home, but the dvd seems to have decided that it would rather its home be in Palm Desert. You may be regretting that decision George when it hits 125* this summer.

I may or may not need a rule that says no watching Octonauts before bed. Should you break such rule, you will have dreams of orcas eating your children.
