May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...
I may or may not keep forgetting about our Monday evening community farm obligation because I am so absorbed with our duties at the historic farmhouse. I set a reminder in my phone and promptly left it at home. I asked my littles to remember it, they didn’t. We donated our 1,00 + sunflower seeds from a sunflower we harvested two years ago. My little has been asking for those two years to plant them all in our yard. I finally was able to make his dream come true by planting them at the community farm. I did not plant them. Others did while we worked in the children’s garden. But still I think I got major points today. I made my darling husband run home (literally) and deliver them to the farm while we finished watering the historic farmhouse garden and then we walked over to the community farm. Thankfully everything in our hood is close to everything.
I may or may not have been up all night with my little because he got chains on his braces and couldn’t sleep until after my darling husband left for work. I may or may not have proceeded to get up the very next morning to watch the royal wedding with my mom. We promptly went back to sleep but I swear I’m too old for this no sleep gig I’ve had going since February.
I may or may not have been a write-in for county commissioner on the primary ballot by my darling husband to contest the incumbent who is running unopposed.
I may or may not have missed Little Woman part two on PBS this week! I will have to find a way for my littles and I to watch it. What do you think me or I? I can’t decide.
I may or may not have been told juicy fruit gum repels or kills voles. So I finally purchased some only because my little reminded me at the checkout. So then the questions begin. Do you chew it? Do you just place it in the holes? How long does it take? Do they eat it and die? Or just hate the smell and stay away? So I decided unchewed and just drop it in the hole and wait and see. So no nibbles, found a dead baby vole but way on the other side of the yard (and with all these birds of prey around our country home, how is it still in my yard??). What I did find, ants. Ants feasting on the gum and dying in place. So here’s your warning ⚠️ Juicy fruit kills ants. Do ya really want that in your body? Good thing I went against chewing the gum before putting it in the vole holes.
I may or may not have spilled cow’s blood not once but twice on my kitchen counter, floor, and my bare foot. Ack!!! I literally screamed in horror. All I could think was at least it’s organic grass fed blood. Right!? At least. So I pulled out the vinegar and rubbing alcohol and drenched all of it, foot included. I ruined the finish on my hardwood flooring. But really how could I not throw alcohol down to make my kitchen usable again. Worth it.
My little may or may not have cleaned all the windows in the house for the first time in *cough* years for the arrival of my parents. I kid you not, three birds have already crashed into them in the last five days. Cleaning windows kills. Or rather stuns.
