May or May Not Monday

May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...

I may or may not have inadvertently taken a month off on this series. Very sick kiddos and then a vacation caused my absence. I just got home an hour ago from vacation, so here we go with the things I can remember worth mentioning.

I may or may not have been told by the lady at my parents’ church I was being introduced to that I couldn’t possibly be related to my parents, they must have had a son, my husband. It took multiple attempts to convince her by my mother that I was in fact her daughter. Still, she walked away saying my husband looked like my dad’s twin.

I may or may not have been at a grocery store checkout when the cashier asked my husband if he wore curlers in his hair at night because he has such good hair. She told me I had a lot of freckles.

I may or may not have been asked at church why I have no girls. I responded that I have a heart condition and will die if I have more kids. To which she responded, “too bad”.

These three entries may or may not have been with Asian grandmas which literally leave me chuckling when it’s over because it’s so not my norm in my daily interactions. And I find them so cute and humorous.

I may or may not have tried to take my kids to a book signing by President Clinton and James Patterson so they could say they’ve seen a real life president. We looked at the set up and the secret service had it dialed in. One person at a time in the completely cordoned off with ten feet tall black curtains all the way around. No pictures or personalization. Must buy the book at the PX and have a wrist ban and arrive to stand in line in the two hour window. You could start lining up at 0600 for a 1200-1400 signing. We passed. I thought we could just raise the kids up to look over the crowd to catch a glimpse after church.

I may or may not have made my oil change mileage requirements in the timeframe on the sticker for the first time in the last seven years. It took driving a round trip to Yellowstone and a 1,500 mile trip around the PNW we just got back from. I’m usually an every six months oil changer just to keep it fresh.

I may or may not have my darling husband cutting and edging the 1/3 acre yard we have in 100* heat right after we got back from a 9 hour drive because he’s leaving for the rest of the week for work. Welcome home honey!

I may or may not be thinking I should unpack while I have extra time with one less person in my house this week. I’m not very hopeful my responsibility motivation level will rise to the challenge.
