May or May Not Monday

May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...

I may or may not be drawing a blank on my week. Usually I write down the failures before I forget them, but this week the weather has been really nice for a few days and that means I just play outside. Forget chores and responsibilities when the weather is warm and the sun is shining. I told Brandon that the quote "God makes rainy days so gardeners can get housework done" definitely applies to me.

I may or may not have used one of those rainy days for a craft day instead of getting any of those chores or responsibilities done either.

I may or may not have had to have a parent teacher conference for behavior not once but twice this week. Major decisions are in the works regarding school for next year and it may be a very emotional ordeal for all parties.

I may or may not have spent the weekend painting the laundry room! To get that work done it may entail ignoring my littles for hours. It may mean giving them a giant bag of crafts and school supplies with no rules or stipulations on how to use them. It may result in play doh ruined and spread all over the kitchen floor and table and temporary tattoos applied to my hardwood floors. It may mean an hour of intensive cleaning to get the kitchen back in order. It may mean unsupervised backyard playing and all my tulips being beheaded. *Sad face* Chalk colored on the side of my house and then crushed up on the ground with a children's garden hoe. But my laundry room is painted!

I may or may not have left this chore for a year and a half undone. Cleaning up the dryer lent that gets trapped between the house and air conditioner. Here's a decade worth of dryer lent!
It was so compacted that it came up like carpet. Who puts an air conditioner one foot away from the dryer vent?

I may or may not have allowed my little to sit out his entire soccer game because he had a stomach ache. We drive 50 minutes one way for these games. It turns out that he forgot to eat the food we gave him in the car and decided he was sick instead. I may need to audit my parenting.

I may or may not have gone down to the library to return a few books and pick up our 6 requested books that came in. We walked and I brought a backpack to carry the books. We may or may not have returned with 27 books to trek back up the giant hill in 80* heat.  I may have had a few books attached to the outside with the bungee like cord on the backpack or packpack as my cuties say.

We may or may not be back up towards the 100 mark for our library card checkouts. I may be slowly weeding through the books and returning them in stealth mode so that I can avoid fits and meltdowns. "Oh, but I love that book!" Said in the whiniest voice ever. This may be the plight of bibliophiles.

I may or may not have read a book this week and liked it but wondered the entire time when I would understand the title. The Salt Garden. Couldn't figure it out and then was told on the very last paragraph in the book what a salt garden is. "What comes from sorrow, watered by tears, grows something of beauty. A salt garden... A harvest for those who find their way into my life and I into theirs."
