May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...
I may or may not have just tried to make my own toothpaste out of baking soda, salt, and water. While I enjoyed the salt taste, my teeth feel raw. Too abrasive. Probably my brushing technique was not as gentle as I thought. My mouth does feel clean and fresh though. Why would I get the idea to make my own? I ran out of my toothpaste and used the kids' Tom's Strawberry toothpaste and hated the way it left my teeth feeling. Too much glycerin. So I went down the research rabbit hole and was left with everything in natural toothpaste is awful for your body and teeth so you must make your own. Even Julia Roberts uses baking soda to clean her teeth. Uh huh, and we're done with that.
I may or may not have purchased $6 hand crafted peppermint marshmallows to try to give my kids a desserty filled Christmas season. Big time fail with the littles. I pulled out the almost empty can of Ghiradelli hot cocoa from the back of my pantry that we haven't used once in the 3.3 years we've lived in this house and definitely couldn't throw it away and moved it here! I made some coconut milk hot cocoa and tossed in a truly expensive peppermint marshmallow and declared it his Christmas in a cup. Looks like my husband is the only one experiencing a holiday treat. That was last weekend and he hasn't asked for another. I should just start giving them away.
I may or may not have been slightly bummed that no one took my invitation for challah French toast on Saturdays seriously. But then there was enough for Saturday and Sunday challah French toast for all three of my boys. Silver lining right.
On the way home from church there was an accident and no warning that the road hadn't been cleaned up. The responder parked after the debris. We thought we made it through without damaging our tires until later on when my husband was delivering his homemade bread to a friend, a screw was discovered in the right front passenger tire. I may or may not have been bummed that doing the responsible thing of repairing the tire caused us to miss joining in the neighborhood Christmas caroling and snowball fight.
I may or may not have sent my littlest to bed at 6pm Thrusday night forgetting to finish his weekly homework due Friday. We were late for school Friday morning to finish his homework. One was a worksheet requiring pictures cut out of magazines of pulley systems, wheels and axels, wedges, incline planes, levers, and screws. It's the digital age! We are lucky we had one magazine in the house. We were also lucky that the magazine was a Popular Mechanics and not Good Housekeeping or a beauty magazine.
I may or may not have also been unable to locate his backpack and sent him late without his backpack. Thankfully, the stakes are low in kindergarten. At 1038 I received a phone call informing me that it was an early release day and my child was waiting for me in the office. Banner way to end the first semester!
I may or may not have written down a list of essential oils to purchase for December to get a free Frankincense. Making my way through the list, I come to the entry "curses". What oil could possibly be autocorrected to curses? I still don't know which one I was hoping to try!
While dropping one little off at school, the sick little stayed in the car out of the wet cold. Seven hours later I looked at his fleece pants while he was sitting next to me and asked him what was on his pants. Oh, it's just puke. I threw up in the car at school. Me: did you clean it up? Little: of course not. It's really not a big deal. It's just on my car seat.
Grateful it's freezing outside and not the middle of summer.
I may or may not have opened up my house and aired it out like it was Spring yesterday. It was 40* and clear and not raining or snowing for the first time in a month. It didn't last long before the clouds and next winter storm rolled through.
I may or may not have picked up raw sauerkraut to aid in the healing of my food allergies. I haven't been able to breathe clearly for three weeks and after 5 bites I was cleared headed until the next morning. Are a few more bites and my head is clear again. Miracle drug: sauerkraut. It's good too: garlic and dill flavored. Try some!
