May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...
I may or may not have survived the surgery and anesthesia without any seizure like convulsions or vomiting. Whoo! The anesthesiologist, Dr. De Payne (gotta be best name for a dr. ever) figured out my reaction was to the anti nausea meds. It's called a dystonic reaction. Great pocketed for the future. I also tried a heavy synthetic narc called tramadol that I tolerated just fine. I slept for days on the stuff. I also, after 7 pills had withdrawal symptoms. Seriously. So I went from narcs to one dose of ibuprofen/Tylenol to nothing because my head was so unclear, tingly, and throbbing. And I was tired of the nightmares. My favorite was the one where I was trying to help a abdominal stabbing victim by calling 911 on a rotary phone. Only to be answered by a princess who kept putting me on hold. No help ever arrived.
I may or may not have worked my way up to taking laps around the backyard once a day. The little measured the width, 82 ft. Yesterday I made it to ten laps.
I may or may not have started and finished season 2 of Fixer Upper and still don't get the love of rustic farmhouse. And was disappointed with her clothes styling not being as cute. But it's clean tv that I can watch with the littles.
I may or may not have gotten dressed yesterday, which just consisted of putting on a long black cotton skirt that I could ride under my wounds, to go to a neighborhood yard sale for dainty white garden trellises. Three for $15 and even then I didn't give myself permission to just buy them, my husband had to. Six years ago with my last surgery, I spent $750 in a week online shopping in the middle of the night because of my meds. Luckily everything was returnable and mostly free shipping. As a rule I am no longer allowed to memorize credit card numbers or buy anything while recovering from surgery. The numbers part of my brain worked but my memory of purchasing was quite hazy. Don't do drugs. They make you do crazy things.
