May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...
I may or may not have been watching PBS one night with my husband when "Life of Beavers" came on and I thought oh here we go. We watched it and we're engrossed in the awesomeness of beavers! We both decided our littles needed to watch it the next showing on PBS. In case you are as ill informed as we were, beavers are awesome like in Narnia and not pests.
I may or may not have seen a carry-on suitcase with rubber chicken legs sticking out of it. I still can't make heads or tails of it. On the one hand, that is a genius way to mark a suitcase for identification, on the other it's a carry-on so why the need for absurd distinction?
I may or may not have forgotten my glasses on the trip back to FL for my Gram's funeral. No biggie I thought, I always forget something. Now that I've been home for less than a day, I still can't find them. Admittedly, I've barely done more than glance at the place I thought they'd be.
I may or may not answer the question of where are you from with Florida. This is an unanswerable question for BRATS. I've always felt a twinge of discomfort with this answer because it's where both sets of grandparents reside and my parents met and my car had FL plates until after college. After the funeral, I realized FL is my home. I am known and know so many from growing up. My Gram's house is home. It fits the definition of the familiar, smells, past history, and being known. I am known there and FL is my home. And I'm having to say goodbye to it now when I've just realized what it is. Another thing we BRATS are too skilled at.
I may or may not have told my husband to keep my littles happy and fed for the four days I was gone. He followed this to a T. Next time I need to add bathed.
I may or may not have realized how much my family drains me while on break in FL. I slept maybe six hours a night but had far more energy than my best days at home. Was it hard to be away? Nope it was not. I thought we were a fairly laid back family, but I realized just how draining motherhood is on people, even when it's pretty great!
I may or may not have had a surprise four hour lay over on the way home in Denver. It was supposed to be 50 minutes. I walked for an hour and twenty minutes in no support sandals before I had to stop. Then had three and a half hours to sit and wait. The flight was gorgeous flying directly west over the Rockies and following it north through Utah and then West by the Sawtooths in Idaho. Breathtaking beauty. I came home and crashed for 12 hours. I'd been up since 5:50 am MST and didn't get home until 9pm MST.
