May or May Not Monday

May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...

I may or may not have woken up to my oldest little going about his morning like everything was just fine and normal when I asked him what happened to him. What? Nothing. You cut your own hair. Why? I thought it was too long. So you cut it? Yes. Did you think about brushing it or wetting it to get it off your eyebrows? Oh. Are you happy with it now? Yes! Did you look at it yet? No. Well buddy you scalped half your bangs. Oh. Why didn't you get me to cut your hair? I wanted to let you sleep in (this was Saturday). Well in the future are you going to cut it yourself? No. Well kiddo you're going to be wearing a hat for months. Okay. I asked the other little if he saw him cut his hair. No, he was sneaky. Now all this after I did my best hair cut ever two weeks ago - folks thought it was professional. Daily I was proud of myself. Wow, kids keep you humble. It's soooo soooo very bad you guys.

I may or may not have been late to school deliberately twice this week due to letting my little sleep til he woke naturally. His allergies have been compromising his sleep nightly. One extra day I didn't intend on being late but road construction in our two minute drive to school not once but twice impeded our timely progress. There should be a no construction allowed perimeter around schools at pick up and drop off time. That time is already crazy enough with 400 kids who aren't bussed getting to school in a ten minute window.

My allergy suffering little joined me at dawn every morning this week. I should mention that my husband was in PA for 8 days. He just got back. My little left his watch under the bed covers and that night I may or may not have thought upon entering my bed that night that there was a snake in my bed. I jumped out before I realized it was just a watch.

I may or may not have set a passcode for the smart tv apps to have more control over screen time. I just left the pin as the default code 0000 and thought hey this is working out well. Five days later my little techie informs me he figured out the code the first day on his first try. Wasn't that lucky of me Mommie!? Really! Yes it was! I say shocked because I thought the first thing he would try was 1234. He informed me that it was all okay because he just watched a documentary on algorithms.  Yes typical  8 year old that was a solid choice of show but you're not supposed to watch tv in the morning before school.  I changed the pin anyway. Hopefully it takes longer to crack this code.

I may or may not have figured out the mystery of a 500 page mystery in the first 50 pages. The next book I tried featured a 7 year old behaving like a 17 year old. If you're main character is seven make them act seven. Just change the age to a teen and we would have gotten along just fine. Books are seriously letting me down lately.

On Friday morning I was met with a little patting my back. When I rolled over to him he exuberantly announced it's pool opening day, right!  Yes it is my darling but it's not getting out of the 40s today and it's raining. Ohhh. That's terrible. Maybe tomorrow? I may or may not have had to be the bearer of even more terrible news - not even remotely warm enough weather was in the 10 day forecast.
