May or May Not Monday

May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...

I may or may not be annoyed with all the day camp (really can't we call it what it actually is - day care- that are making bank) kids hijacking our day events - the swimming pool, the library clubs, the playground. All free so let's utilize them with our obnoxious crowd of rowdy kids and think it's the best thing ever. Yes, for you it is because it's free but it ruins the experience for the rest of us eeking out serene summer. Why just today at Makiteeers the families with preschool kids through second grade had to wait for 50 minutes in our seats while the third through sixth grade camp kids went first on the craft. The librarians did not have enough four more than four kids to go at a time because their normal numbers don't need more than that. If you're bringing 15 kids, call ahead and tell them so they can plan for it. It's common courtesy, but it's not very common these days.

I may or may not have had a very short window to get the littles to the pool today. A cold front is moving in tomorrow and the next day. We showed up at 11:30 right after the cleaning half hour is scheduled to find the pool cloudy. Really murky. Couldn't see the bottom of four and a half feet at all murky. Pool guy says hesitantly "Should be all clear in ten minutes. It's safe. " Which I take to mean 15 and definitely not safe by my standards. So we wait and wait and wait. 30 minutes later, no clearance has been made. We leave and the pool monitor looks at us like just get in. Not uh. I can't see the dark blue swim lanes, I won't be able to see my kids. We live in a blissfully charmed neighborhood that has not one but two pools to choose from. We drive two minutes to the other pool to seethe same pool guys just finishing their scheduled clean time and that the pool is clear. We get in and the littles last twenty minutes. They don't heat this pool much and why we only go by force. I related this to my husband and said I wonder if we should call the county. He said nope, not their jurisdiction. Amazed I look at him. He says I look edit up last year when we had all those pooping incidents. More than five in two weeks- the culprit: a 13 year old boy.

I may or may not have decided to try a new to us club at a library 40 minutes from us. It's still in the same town just on the furthest reach from us. I pulled up a map and typed in the address because I hate Siri's directions. Turns out the map had us a mile off course and I had to pull over and rely on Siri to get us there. We were ten minutes late because of turn arounds.

I may or may not have had to wait five days for the Ac guy to come. Husband came home and said I've called 25 times (13 really but that's still a lot). The boys and I were in a deep sleep in the living room because that's where we all had been sleeping for days. It was 11am. The house has finally cooled to a decent temperature. Though I thought it was 8am. Five days of bad bad sleep due to being on fire does that to ya. Turns out the part we had replaced 2 years ago was 1) not the right part 2) had melted 3) was probably done wrong so they could convince us to pay the $23k for an entire new system they told us we needed. We looked up the company a while back and they have a huge amount of claims filed at the BBB.

I may or may not have been nursing a smallest size hole in our organic cotton bedsheets because there's no money for new sheets. My washer/dryer put the hole there sixish months ago. The littles decided it would be more fun to sleep in our bed and after one sleep they managed to make the hole of the largish size. Now my sheets have been stitched rather poorly together with ballet pink thread. It was the closest I had to white. We are in this stage in life where it's us vs. them. They are destroying everything and we have no time, money, or energy to fix things.

I may or may not have a husband who decided at 10pm the night before our community yard sale that he was participating. He was supposed to be camping in the backyard with the littles since our ac was out. After much persuasion on my end (yelling that they needed to go to bed since it was 11pm and you're making me crazy!) camping ensued, littles awoke in terrible moods and allergies rendered one miserable.  But in four hours, he made $100. So I guess it was worth it.

After incurring a new car payment, i may or may not have tried to keep our food budget at $150 a week only buying fresh food. No box or packed anything. It can't be done. I have the biggest eaters ever anyway who consume no less than four huge meals daily. It's a lot of food. And I'm guessing processed food is cheaper than real food. So I'm hoping $200 is more doable.

After kindergarten graduation I may or may not have been feeling weepy because of change and my husband wasn't there to tell me it's cool. I demanded he meet us for lunch and we found a taco place my boys didn't snub their noses at the food WITH cheap prices. We all decided taco Thursday's would be our lunch date for the summer. First Thursday out to bat I forgot. And we found ourselves running errands at Walmart in loo. Super not the same!

I may or may not have library fines of $20 between three out of four cards. Didn't get email reminders. Checked out from another library that apparently doesn't have the two day grace period before fines start. And my branch isn't open much of Saturday and not Sunday, so leaving them in the drop box all weekend incurs fines. I'm in too deep over my head with managing our library cards. And Food For Fines is no where near coming.
