May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...
I may or may not have killed a bird with my car today. Usually they fly away at the last moment, right? This bird waited a moment too long and got sucked under my undercarriage and knocked itself dead. Thankfully, my family didn't notice anything. There wasn't a large thump, it was a tiny bird. No large bump, for my tires didn't touch it. My darling husband will only learn about this upon reading this blog.
I may or may not be allowing my children to participate in the library summer reading program. Yup, allowing. Normally I think they are worthless but this time we don't have to do anything extra in our lives. We just mark off the forms for every thirty minutes we read for each kid and they get raffle tickets to put in a prize box. Now they haven't been interested in the weekly drawings. They are putting all their tickets in for an inflatable row boat. Last week when I checked, 90% of the tickets belonged to us for that prize. We shall see come August 12th whether we have stacked the deck enough to win the odds for the boat drawing. It almost isn't fair since we read so much. But maybe the littles need to be rewarded with more than just a head full of amazing stories.
I may or may not have had to de green my littles' hair to be presentable for a family wedding we are attending this weekend. The green comes from too much copper in the water. After hitting their blonde hair with baking soda, lemon juice, and ACV I hope it's taken care of. Otherwise green hair lives on in the family pictures for prosperity.
I may or may not have attempted to please my darling husband by removing the enormous sunflowers that replant themselves in our food garden every year. I attempted to please one darling little by transplanting the beastly beauties into six huge pots from trees we planted this spring and placing them in his play yard area. So far they look terribly sad. Like on life support. The timing isn't great with temperatures over 100. I'm cautiously optimistic that I will be successful in my people pleasing.
My littles may or may not be boycotting real food and existing off of Popsicles in this heat. Five a day and still asking for more. They are pretty yummy - fruit and veg - so I shouldn't be too frustrated right? With four days of single parenting this week, it did make my chores easier.
