May or May Not Monday

May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...

I may or may not have been applying an aloe plant to my face sunburn and without realizing there was a thorn on it stabbed my lip. A gash happen and I then applied the aloe plant to my lip. The irony is not lost on me. My lip is refusing to heal after five days.

I may or may not have woken up to the house shaking - windows, chandelier, and walls rattling. I rolled over and thought ah stinking construction. The house the blocked my amazing view that started being built in November and was supposed to be livable in March is still underway. What if it had been an earthquake and I'm just like ah stinking construction and letting my kids fend for themselves!? They woke up grumbling and headed to their playroom. Guess what time. 9 am and we are all put out!  Happy summer sleep ins.

I may or may not have switched up my makeup and worn eyeliner on both lids. Whoa, I know. Three days in a row, that looks nice I've never seen you do that before, says my darling husband. Really? How about yesterday. It must have really made an impression.

I may or may not have thought that catching the snake with my garage door and then an hour later it disappearing probably in my garage to be the animal highlight of the week. Three days later we had a surprise run in with a bull moose at a lake beach. It surprised us as it emerged from the forest not forty feet from where we stood. We surprised him and he decided after a moment to change course and go upstream to eat some bushes. Thankful that it wasn't a brush with death the boys and I and our dear friends breathed a breath of relief and then my darling husband rounded the corner on a paddle board heading straight for the moose that was camoed perfectly with the water and shadows in the bushes. After some very harried moments of very exaggerated motions to get my darling's attention and change his course, my heart slowed from the tachycardia and we could just try to capture the moose with our phone camera. We were also very grateful it wasn't the mama and twins spotted yesterday that greeted us.

I may or may not have thought that I left my phone on my bed while we were in the mountains this weekend. It turns out it was just hidden in my clothes that I never got around to wearing. We went to the mountains and we all decided we didn't want to come back. It helped that we were with great friends and had the most delightful time!
