May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...
I may or may not have just found the time to look up two branches of my family tree that I’ve never met but live in the area. Children and grandchildren of my Grandma’s brother. They didn’t get along. My grandma is no peach, so no ill will there for not welcoming me to the area 😉. Grandchildren of my granfather’s sister live here, too. I did a quick search for the obit of my great uncle and was off. Quickly, I found a Facebook trail of pictures and made a very quick decision that I will just remain unknown to the member with a tattoo covering half his face. Another name produced an article that my second cousin just won the lottery. Hello!! I’m your long lost cousin!! Another search showed a perfectly respectable member, which felt much better after the shock of the first search result.
I may or may not have lost my children to an imaginative world in which the world comes alive through legos. The playroom has held them captive and they only come out for meals. It’s been going on for the better part of the last week. Don’t worry they did math and story time at their lunch break.
I may or may not have realized my love for British house shows comes from my dislike of open concept, subway tile, marble countertops, and gray. I really don’t dislike those things, they are just everywhere. British house shows have so much variety and character. For instance, I’m currently viewing a home that is made from the ship, the Mauretania. That’s right, the ship that came to the Titanic’s rescue a few hours too late. The ship went up for auction and these people bought cabins and the viewing room of the cruise ship and built their house around it. I mean they are living in a famous cruise liner and it’s gorgeous.
I may or may not be wondering what is going on with January. I finally get an ice rink in my hood and get to use it for a week because winter decided to make way for spring. It was 52* yesterday. Be January not March so I can ice skate to my heart’s content.
I may or may not have taken my family to a park by the river to enjoy that 50* and sunshine (and freezing breeze, just to explain it’s still cold, just not frigid) only to be constantly dodging goose poop. It’s everywhere! So much you can’t look up while walking to take in the beautiful scenery. Seriously disgusting.
I may or may not have had two book clubs meet this week. They are both once a month. The first Monday and second Thursday, so far it’s been the same week every time. It makes for a good amount of socializing and book chat for one week.
I may or may not have crocheted an orange ombré scarf for my little that loves orange. I hate that you can’t see all the shades of the yarn. I will say that my littles love it. It reminds me of retro in a not inspired way.
