May or May Not Monday

May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...

I may or may not be looking out the window to an orange red moon. Earlier the sun set as a red pink. It all feels otherworldly. An interesting effect from all the smoke from Cali and B.C.

I may or may not still be healing from scratching my eye last week. I’ve been wearing glasses all week and resting my eyes from focusing too much. Of course this happens when I have five books checked out for myself to read. I may very well not get to any of them since they are two week checkouts.

I may or may not be quite sad that my library day time book club has been canceled because we only had four people. That was maybe the best part because it was so quaint and you really got to know each other through books. A lovely way to befriend people and see the world through a new lens.

I may or may not have dropped my phone yet again. It now has black marring permanently embedded on the almost entirely shattered screen. I have a cover holding it altogether so I guess the shattering just gets deeper since there’s not much more left to break.

I may or may not have had a high pitched slightly panicked voice when I asked my husband to pause a work call to come kill a vole my little and I had cornered when it scampered into our garage. To which I was answered with a scowl that said how dare you interrupt. So we waited it out ten minutes blocking the creature from making a great escape. During which time I caught sight of its tail. It’s long tail. It was a rat. A baby one and cute. Nonetheless, a rat. He did meet a quick death because we certainly don’t want a creature to suffer. And while we were feeling low for killing the cute rat my little astutely reminded us that rats carry the bubonic plague. Very quickly our sadness dissipated and disinfectant was applied to the shovel. Feelings of disgust have remained since.

I may or may not have reminded my littles that the public school year started today. I welcomed them to their next grade cause it’s easy to forget which grade year they are in being homeschooled and they need to know what grade they are in when asked. I asked them how they liked their first day of school on their kayaking “field trip” to Payette Lake.
