May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...
I may or may not have lost against a prickly weed at the farmhouse. I cut it at its base and on its way down it swiped my eye cutting my eyelids and eye ball. My family freaked out and I said I came here to work so we’re staying until the work is done. At the time I thought I’d just cut my eyelid cause that’s what was stinging the most. It wasn’t until we got home and they took a picture to show me that I sorta got worried that I might go blind. I’m sure our bodies are made to heal eye wounds well enough, right?
I may or may not have checked out from the library a whole series of exercise dvds geared towards geriatrics. I love it and so do the rest of my family! So you’ll just find us using this relaxing and gentle exercise method for our young bodies that are starting to betray us more and more.
I may or may not have strained my shoulder while reading a 1,000 page book for a few hours in the bathtub. I might have held it with one hand locked in the same position for two hours. My young child cannot believe that you can injure yourself reading. This is where I would say, “hold my beer,” if I drank but I don’t. At age 12, I required bifocals for eight months to heal my eyes from the strain of the required school reading Roll of Thunder, Heat My Cry in the smallest print known to man. I have strained my wrists multiple times holding heavy books. And now my shoulder. I thought I was in the clear because my wrist wasn’t hurting.
I may or may not be anxiously awaiting next Monday when public school starts so we can have all our activities back to ourselves. Pool during school hours - empty. Libraries- empty. Field trip locations - empty. Homeschoolers all over the region rejoice come Monday! We are celebrating by going to the empty lake.
I may or may not have watched The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society five times this weekend because I was doing chores the whole time and missing parts every round. My whole family is a fan of the movie. I’m a fan and have been waiting since the book came out ten years ago for this movie. A fan may not be quite descriptive as I’ve read the book at least thirty times. So fanatic may be more fitting. I have not read the book in six years so I just may need to do so again. I asked my darling husband if the movie made him want to read the book because books are always better and he said nope. I just can’t process that.
I may or may not wish to wear 1940s inspired clothes and live on a picturesque beach in a cottage. It may have something to do with it being smoke season and 110* this week. This is how you turn a summer living girl into a counting down to Fall gal.
I may or may not have had what every woman dreads once a month - I leaked through my clothes while in public. I’m not sure I’ve had this pleasure yet. I’m sure I don’t want to again.
What was the bathtub book??? I am loving the movie, but I want to curl up with hot tea and cool weather and watch it over and over.
