May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...
I may or may not have wondered how I missed two weeks of this and then looked at my calendar and realized, “ Oh, I was too busy!” Busy with great things like my parents! Busy with Adavent projects. Busy organizing and cleaning my house because it never seems to stay the way I clean it. Imagine that. Busy building up my blood supply after a month a blood draws and three horrible periods so I could avoid a blood transfusion. And so I could have my blood drawn yet again.
I may or may not have gotten my supply of blood up and gone to the lab and given them 30ml of that hard won blood only to have my vein blown through and now my arm is useless and swollen. Google says it happens and it should heal in a week to a month and no lifting. Just what I needed. I’m on day four and not feeling like I’m going to be healed in a week. Still hurts to hold a phone. 🙄
I may or may not have decided to decorate the Christmas tree with white, pink, and gold this year. It killed my littles to leave all the other color ornaments in the box. Because quantity over quality may yet still be their mindset.
I may or may not have gone to our town tree lighting that promised carols. The tree was lit and two half hearted carols were offered up. Two does mean plural, I guess.
I may or may not have just been whining in my head that my house was too cold to take showers and then the next day be frustrated with the sun coming out and melting some snow and the ice rink. Can’t have it both ways, Kate. I took a wipe bath and realized I’d much rather have an ice rink at my disposal.
I may or may not have been told that my little is getting his braces off this coming week and my first thought was, No! I like coming here and chatting with all the sweet ladies and orthodontist monthly, even if I don’t know their names because they don’t wear name tags and after a year it’s too far in the relationship to ask.
I may or may not have made a whole big production of a cardamom, orange, ginger cake with gingerbread chocolate shavings only to have my littles love it and my darling husband complain about ginger being spicy and making his nose run. I think my feelings are still hurt.
I may or may not be slathering Vaseline all over my face just to keep it from bleeding from the cold. It doesn’t feel very luxurious but my skin is still on my face, so there’s that.
I may or may not have taken my mom and family to the dollar theater to see Jack Black’s latest movie - a clock in the wall something or other. I walked out saying I’m glad it was funny because it was creepy. My little had been given the book and hadn’t read it yet and decided to read it. He says the movie is way creepier than the book. They always are. So now we wait to see the Nutcracker and The Grinch in February on Dollar Tuesday. We are totally fine seeing movies out of season. Especially ones that are cheap.
My parents must have come to town because it had zero snow on the forecast and literally dumped 8” and greeted them with a dicey drive in our mountains to get to our house in a rental car. This may or may not be the running joke that it snows just for them regardless of the season. We love it. They could do without. The weather report is threatening highs of mid 30s to take it all away. This makes me shoot daggers from my eyes because snow can be played in. Mid 30s highs and mud, can’t. Blah.
