Living Room. I love how much natural light comes into this house especially after living in a gloomy part of the country for 12 years. The wall color on the walls and ceiling was tan. You could barely see the built ins because the colors were so similar. Work done: new carpet, new wall and ceiling color, new ceiling fan and removing the giant blinds (we kept them in case we change our minds for the extreme temps of summer and winter). The wall color is the same as the kitchen and kitchenette since they all connect: benjamin moore's wyeth blue.

The bowl of soup on the counter is my lunch. I decide to shoot pictures while waiting for it to cool.

5 years ago we bought the arm chair on the right at Ashley for $169 and no tax (Oregon). At the time I knew eventually I would want another one, but didn't have the storage space for one. Now the Ashley wanted $289 plus tax. Brandon called the Ashley in the nearest town in Oregon and we got it for $240 and no tax. We happily drove the hour to go get it.

We replaced the space ship ceiling fan with this fan from Lowes. I pretty much want to forget the space ship fan, but we've still got one hanging in our bedroom so you may get to see it yet. I'd like to forget the befores of the house.

We sold our other couch and love seat on craigslist and purchased this sectional.

We took down the massive blinds and it opened the room up and gave it a bigger feel. We also put the curtains on clips so I could actually open and close them. We did the same for the curtains in the kitchenette that are the same pattern.

My garden of air cleaners.
Master Bath. Lots of natural light and beautiful views of the mountains. Work done: changed the light fixtures (just the glass part) from square gray to this round alabaster, walls and ceiling again were tan, got higher power fans to pull the moisture out, and changed the sink facets. Eventually we'd like to change the countertops and shower, but that's in the no where near future. Wall color is benjamin moore nightingale. Apparently there are two benjamin moore nightingales. I wanted the lighter color but got the darker. I had no idea until I researched the color after what showed up on our walls. Lesson learned, always use the number and not just the name. But we're going with it because we don't want to repaint. And apparently I over share on pictures.

The blue pitcher belonged to my Great Great Aunt Margaret (my sister's namesake). Then my grandmother who said she always remembered fresh yellow roses being in it. Maybe someday they will grace it again.

Fabric for the valences I made.

Love these curtain rods from Lowes.
And for all of the house think a ridiculous amount of cleaning to get it to this state. |
