May or May Not Monday

May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...

I may or may not have skipped my first May or May Not Monday since November when I started this because last week fell on a day of mourning for me. Memorial Day. It is not a day that I can celebrate with BBQs or apparently try to find humor in my week. It is a sobering day for military kids and families. The same goes for Veteran's Day and 9/11 for this girl & her blog.

I may or may not have put my hair up in pin curls after my shower and left them in overnight. I may or may not have woken up with huge hair from it and my husband may have called me Farrah or beauty queen for the day. It took getting caught in a wind storm with 40 mph winds to calm it down to only being shoulder width huge.

A marshmallow project may or may not have been taken home in a school backpack three maybe four weeks ago. The smashed bits of marshmallow may or may not still be stuck to the inside of said backpack. With three days left of school you would think I might put cleaning it out as a priority, but you would think wrong. I've been pushed to the max the last three weeks with having to do all the chores my hubby usually does because of his broken knuckle. And cleaning up marshmallow doesn't make the important list.

I may or may not have texted my hubby "What's your 20?" and gotten the reply, "My what?" and been flabbergasted. He may or may not now just use the phrase improperly just to get a rise out of me like "Where's my 20? or Who's my 20? or Am I 20?" Feeling shocked and awed I inquired if he knew what "Do you have my 6?" was when it was said during an episode of Flashpoint. I may or may not have had to inform him. How has this never come up in a decade of being together?

I may or may not have taken the rest of the school year off from taking my oldest sweet pea to school. I may have enlisted my husband to go in to work a few minutes later than normal so that my littlest sweet pea and I can sleep in. We may or may not have been sleeping in until 10:30. We have to pick up the oldest sweet pea at 11:30. It's made for some quick mornings and happier days because the littlest sweet pea is finally getting the sleep he needs. And my husband thinks that this is a great time for him to be involved in his son's life. Win-win all around.

I may or may not have come up to the playroom with a trash bag and the rest of the box of the trash bags to put the toys not put away properly in them to take them away from the sweet peas. I only had to fill up one bag. I may or may not have forgotten about the box of the trash bags left in the playroom. The box may have grown legs and walked off somewhere or had some help by little hands. We may or may not be using left over shopping bags in the kitchen trash can now. Well played sweet peas. Well played.

I may or may not have taken a Buzz Lightyear gun and yelled "Scramble!"* to Brandon as I went in to take my kiddos to their nightly potty visit. I may or may not have run to their doorway shooting my children with the Buzz Lightyear gun to wake them up at midnight.  Don't worry no bullets were fired, it only makes noise. My sweet peas may or may not have thought it was funny. My husband may have met it with laughter until the typical fits from the littlest ensued when he was required to use the potty.  And then I had two people mad and taking it out on me.

I may or may not have come down this morning with two Buzz Lightyear guns in hand and again announced myself with "Scramble!"* and begun pursing my targets. This time there was nothing but laughter and screams and a hostile counterattack from my sweet peas who ended up killing me. Once I was revived, I told my husband tongue in cheek, "See I should have had girls." He keeps telling me I would be a terrible mother to girls. I used to think that he just said that because I only had boys. But now I'm starting to believe that it's truth.

* "Scramble!" may or may not come from a Word World episode they were watching yesterday about being spies.

I've really been enjoying the soft light in our dinning room in the late evenings.
It's ten til 9pm in this shot from my "not so smart" phone.
