May or May Not Monday

May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...

I may or may not have had an enormous to-do list this weekend. A list of my own making and everything seems urgent at this point. Like spring cleaning except it's spring projecting. Those free planting barrels my little scored got stained last weekend and this weekend we filled them with annuals. No joke winter came back that very night with a low of 22 and my rosemary is struggling and probably toast. The grass is cut and fertilized. The remaining fall leaves have been cleaned up. A bookshelf I decided to build on Friday after searching for months to buy is almost complete. We went to a second hand Habitat for Humanity and I saw cabinet crown molding for $5 that I decided was my base for the bookshelf we were now going to build. I only got my darling husband to go along because of the price tag. And now that he sees what I saw he's happy with the plan.

We may or may not have been on watch for rain to use our rainy day 25% off and our store credit to buy the pink magnolia tree. We managed to pull in ten minutes before closing and claim our prize tree. It took forever- 25 minutes to ring it up because the computer system wouldn't recognize the coupon AND store credit. During the wait, there was another couple spending an arm and a leg and my little slipped them one of our 25% off rainy day coupons. Good deed done for the week. The perk of having a mail room for our community is you can dig through the recycling for coupons! No shame in this family in ways to save money! Now we are just waiting for winter to leave again to dig the massive hole for the tree.

I may or may not have been given two shorter books to proof this weekend. My rule for this gig is that it has to be done without interrupting my family. You know when that is? At night til the very, very wee hours of the morning. Even with the sacrificed sleep, I'm very appreciative for this opportunity.

I may or may not have asked my husband to buy me foundation at his trip to Whole Foods - it's by his work and I'm never in that area. With all my allergies I have to buy very specific makeup that is carried at health food stores. It was very interesting trying to figure out my shade on the phone while I look online for the color options available at the store. I opted for a bit darker since my freckles will no doubt be eager to show off with the spring and summer sun coming. We did pretty okay.

My littles may or may not have tried to convince me to buy baby chicks for $3. They were even willing to give them away to our community farm. $3 baby chicks don't really cost $3 and I'm not a pet person. They sure are cute though!

I may or may not have been screeched at by a red tailed hawk while driving around a backroad curve. It was absolutely warranted. He was perched on a rock a foot off the road and while I was in no way going to hit him, we were both surprised. I was grateful he didn't take off into the side of our car while he was screaming at my rudeness. Really, how dare I!

  1. How dare you pick on that hawk! Driving down the same road it's sitting near. Oh, wait, I do that everyday!

So are you going to post us a pic of that bookshelf? Your bloggee's gotta know!

And why didn't Brandon just try-on the makeup and take pix and send back to you?! Ha!

    Always fun reading your blog!
