May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...
I may or may not have spent the weekend outside and then realize at 7pm Sunday night I'd done nothing to get us ready for the week. Laundry kept me up until 1am and I ended up falling asleep on the couch waiting for it to switch the last load to the dryer. I woke up at 3am and figured I'd just do it in the morning at 8am. Apparently walking up the stairs woke me up enough to be up til 4:30am. Four hours later, I was up catching us up for starting the week. I needed to have all the laundry put away, beds made, bathrooms picked up, and have homeschool done by noon when the window contractor was due to access the damage from the monster storm that sent rivers of water through our windows. It got done.
I may or may not have also decided it was the day to organize and clean out our homeschool supplies. Lots and lots of "treasure" got tossed *yay!!* because my kids realized that all this cleaning makes for a monsterous Mommie and helped clean the clutter so that scary Mommie won't lose her temper.
I may or may not have broken my darling husband's hand by having him carry three heavy trees that we purchased to act as a screen in our backyard. He pulled the ligaments and has no knuckles on one hand. 😢 Oops!
I may or may not have botched my darling husband's hair trim making it become a major haircut. He lost six inches - conservative estimate. Thankfully his hair seems to grow an inch a month and it will grow out quick enough. And it's hat season. That helps, too.
Since we've begun building our bookcase from the cabinet molding I found at the second hand store, I've been finding various sizes nails on the floors inside my house. We are building it in the garage. We are darn lucky a foot hasn't been stabbed in the process.
We visited the Birds of Prey Center with my parents and during the presentation on peregrine falcons the docent asked if anyone knew their max speed. Quick as a whip my nine year old calls out 240 mph! The group of fifteen adults including the docent were all amazed. Thank you, Wild Kratts! I may or may not not even be surprised at his fact recall at all anymore.
By my count we are up to 48" of snow for the season thanks to the two not predicted inches that graced our Easter week. Our norm is 20 ish inches. By the beginning of April our precipitation had already reached in three months what we received for the entire 2016 year. 2016 was not a dry year.
I may or may not be contemplating doing a bean teepee in our backyard. I'm starting to wonder if it will just invite snakes...
I may or may not have asked my family if they were in the mood for church and the consensus was no, outside beckoned. I'm starting to believe we are winter attenders. 🤔
