May or May Not Monday

May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...

I may or may not have had a fairly awesome week because the only note I made in my phone is Mary Poppins midnight...Why? So it turns out that Boise does this Music Appreciation Week and puts on a free play. It's all volunteer and it's Broadway caliber. This is the 99th year is been celebrated and Boise is the only city that has put on a play every.single.year. Impressive! This happened to be the first year I had ever been aware of such a fantastic thing happening. So two hours after the tickets became available, I was able to score four tickets in the balcony for opening night. My first choice was a the Saturday or Sunday matinee. But those were sold out. The other nights barely had seats left. So Wednesday at 7:30pm. Have I ever mentioned the littles' bedtime is 8pm? Intermission was a 9:15-30. It was debatable if we were going to make it through. We took a vote. One little said I just wanna be in bed. The other said we are staying this is amazing! So we stayed. One complained about the noise even though there were ear plugs in all of our ears and the noise level was very respectful. Two refused to clap. One very enthusiastic clapper made up for those two playing it cool. One could barely sit still and ended up in my lap. One tried to put on a show of how tired he was and we set him up to sleep with sweatshirts for a pillow, but got sucked into the fantasticness of the show. One said he'd rather stay home for The Music Man next year and the rest of us said, no way we are so going. We ended up getting home at 11:30. Five days later it seems as if we are still tired from staying up that late. Or maybe it had to do with a darling husband flying back home from a Colorado work trip at 3am the night before and we are just too old to pull double hitters. And one of us may or may not be singing "I'm Practically Perfect, in every way" all day every day. Just in case you missed it, Mary Poppins was AMAZING!

I may or may not have purchased the whole year supply of Magic School Bus science experiments even after reading reviews that said the supplies provided were lacking. I thought ah we're not that fancy, it will be fine. I've been having friends over to do them with us because it's always more fun than just doing it by ourselves. Believe me when I say, the supplies provided are seriously lacking. Like we are excited when an experiment works with what they've given us and that's sad. And after three packs. We have nine to go and maybe I will figure in a time to do the experiment in my alone time at night without the kids present to see if the experiment is any good with the supplies. Nah who am I kidding? Sacrifice alone time just to save face on the lame experiment. Not gonna happen. I'm not that good of a mom.

I may or may not have stopped the car on the side of the road in our neighborhood and told the kids to get out and get all the pine cones they could as fast as they could from the neighbor's side yard by the side walk. We tried that art project to paint them and make them look like zinnias. As always the tutorial people are way better than what we can make in real life. But they sure were quick and we had about 50 pine cones in two minutes.

My darling husband does the weekly grocery shopping in the two stores we hit downtown because it is blocks from his work. After being gone for a week of the last two weeks (in two different trips) he may or may not have filled my fridge with ground beef, chicken, shrimp, bacon, and a 2.5 lb turkey. I think he missed eating good food. The boys have been eating like kings this week. It's all been consumed except the ground beef which will be in a lasagna tomorrow.

I may or may not allow my littles to take the leaves that have fallen off succulents in nurseries home in their pockets. They promptly are replanted in soil and given new life. Our garage has become quite the green house since winter has decided it never wants to leave. Snow is forecasted. But that also means that I haven't had to really worry about snakes yet.

I've decided that my focus on my potted plants this year will be on smell. So far jasmine, lemon verbena, lemon basil, pineapple sage (smells soo much like pineapple) and gardenias have made the list. What are ideas for other yummy smelling delights that go in pots?
