May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...
I may or may not be getting grief from someone in my family for only experiencing 99.8 or .9 % by staying in our neighborhood instead of driving twenty minutes further north. To me it was close enough. My advice to them is to chase it in 2024. And if it was good enough for the speaker of the House to view it (he was in our community with friends), then it should be good enough for you. Not really, I just wanted to work that in.
I may or may not have been invited to backyard camp with all three of my boys. No thank you darlings, at my age I much prefer my comfy bed. I woke at 7:50 to I was freezing! I was just fine! I was hot and had mosquitos buzzing my head. The latter chose to forgo our two man tent and sleep under the stars thinking he'd have better, less crowded sleep.
I may or may not have two out of three toilets working in my house. Our master toilet started running this year and progressively got worse. A kit was purchased to fix the components and when I saw an electric saw making its way upstairs I put a stop to the madness. I informed my darling husband that I could survive with just two toilets *shocking, I know* and it would just take a little retraining of the brain to walk the extra five steps down the hall. He offered to buy a new toilet and I said nah we're good. Other things need our money attention at the moment.
I may or may not feel like I won at life by buying my littles winter coats from Lands End for a total of $9.11 for both of them. Credit card rewards, Lands End rewards, and 40% coupon made that possible.
The snake saga may or may not have taken my sleep and sanity this week. The snake guy came out on Friday morning and said yup you live in the country. Yes, but why are they in my garage? I blew out the garage with a blower while single parenting to see if I could coax any others out. No dice. The snake guy doesn't think it's a rattler even though it has a triangle head. Please.
Fred Meyer had a Kwanzan cherry tree for $15 and our whole family may or may not have decided to adopt it on the spot. Shade will reach my yard in five to ten years.
We finally broke down after ten hours of sanding with a little sander and rented a belted sander from Home Depot. It finished the job in less than fifteen minutes that would have taken us hours with the little guy. So then we pull out the stain I bought, golden pecan, to find that it wasn't the correct color. We drove to Home Depot to get the correct Pecan and missed the store being open by four minutes. So we hauled ourselves there at 8:30 this morning before the eclipse because of the predicted after traffic nightmare and solved our problem. I may or may not be truly wondering if there was the predicted traffic nightmare.
I may or may not have those storage benches I bought last week still hanging out in my living room due to the snake issue, the benches are supposed to be homed in the garage, and a darling husband that once again has managed to be out of town for half the week, they're too heavy for me to lift. Maybe they will get there this week? A girl can hope.
