May or May Not Monday

May or May-Not Monday: Where you can divulge the secrets of life's mishaps without feeling like a failure. So go on... own up. I may have...

I may or may not have decided to take an epsom salt bath to soothe my aching muscles only to slip on the undissolved salt on the way in and slam my knee into the tile that surrounds the tub. I’m sitting in my epsom salt bath with my knee elevated soaked in arnica to try to stop the goose egg from getting any bigger. So much for a therapeutic bath.

I may or may not have scored some free Sorrels from a very generous neighbor that are a size and a half too big ( it’s perfect for my extra thick wool socks) that have been giving my legs an insane workout. I’ve been walking in them all week about ten miles with five lb weights on my feet. Hence the reason for needing an epsom salt bath.

I may or may not have two people chatting with me about homeschooling their kids this week and I’m stoked! Homeschooling has been such a blessing to our life and I’m always happy to see others consider the positive benefits of the lifestyle.

I may or may not have looked into getting published for picture books and one of the major marketing tools is how many followers one has. I’m doomed.

I may or may not have sent my boys to shovel our driveway and sidewalk so we could go sledding and found my little shoveling the sidewalk three houses up the hill just to be kind to the neighbors. We did say it’s okay that you enjoyed the workout too. It can be symbiotic and be praiseworthy.

I may or may not have eaten a honeycrisp apple and then thought I might die by apple the pain was so intense in my gut. Turns out you can be allergic to apples, please oh please not another thing to add to my list, or not be able to process the fructose. I don’t want to know which. Apples are on my no touch, not ever list of foods. Sigh, they are so tasty though.

I may or may not have had to take a break from crocheting because my eyes are getting strained. When I was twelve, I had to read Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry in the absolute smallest print that’s allowable. It hurt my eyes so bad I had to wear bifocal lens for almost a year. I know my eyes are crazy sensitive so I have to take a few months off which kinda makes me sad. I like to create, easy and cheap and no fuss. But these eyes they must rest. It even means no books for myself, just story time. Good thing I read ahead for my book clubs this month.

I may or may not be dreaming of moving into the deep mountains where there is snow eight months a year. Something switched me into a winter lover this year. Maybe it’s all the ice skating and sledding. Maybe it’s because all of the farmland and grassland around me  is being bought up by builders and the open space wild is calling my heart.

I may or may not have rinsed my hair and littles’ hair with cooled chamomile tea. It’s supposed to strip out build up and lighten your locks. I read that hibiscus tea can dye it red though I’m too chicken to try that on my own. It would turn out all patchy and splotchy for sure if I tried. But hey maybe it’s something you want to try!
